This could double as DC3LS bait, I’m guessing.

Had one of my favorite customers stop by the shop with his finished project a while back, but was too busy/forgot to make a post. Stumbled across these again while cleaning up some photos this evening, and figured I’d share.

Restored 1970 El Camino SS (semi-build post should be in related stories below), Hotchkis suspension, 383 stroker, and attention to detail down to every nut, bolt, and screw (part of why he’s a favorite customer). We did the paint and body, he handled the suspension/drivetrain and interior. It turned out better than I could’ve imagined, this thing is damn near perfect. I love all the choices he made with it, and the final product is just awesome.

Keep Oppo yellow with SS stripes.

Cool!

But, uh, R&D? That’s a big block. Unless he went out of his way, the minimum size would be a 396.

I love everything about that build except the body color dash. You wouldn’t happen to know what seats those are?

I think I’d be perfectly happy DDing the Volvo for the rest of my life, if it meant I’d save enough money to build this one day.

Although I’ll first need to make it to the milestone of owning a car for more than 2 years.

That yellow paint looks like it’s a foot deep. Very nice!

I might be mistaken (he picked the car up from us in late 2016), but I thought he told me it was a 350 that he’d pretty much followed a Super Chevy 383 build with. I don’t know where the original motor is, or if it was even with the car when he picked it up (it had been beat on).

From the looks of it, they are stock 70 chevelle/el camino buckets with the headrest removed and the custom covers. the plastic and trim and the bottom and seat back are the give away.

I was about to comment the same thing, because that 383 has too many valve cover bolts, lol.

Thanks! I’m trying to decide if I’m going to replace my Camaro’s seats with something a little more modern or just rebuild the stock ones. Being able to adjust the back angle would be nice but if those are stock pieces I doubt they’re adjustable.

*whispers, bbc were produced as small as 366(truck/industrial engines)and share the same stroke as the 396/427, a bunch of them are tall deck and have an additional row of rings*........

Yup, but the intake is a Performer 2-O and it looks like there are no intake spacers.

they are not, they just fold forward for access. I think some of the mid 70's monte carlos had adjustable seats to keep the era look but get the functionality
